Ubud Monkey Forest

As we approached the Monkey Forest, I was a bit wary as I had read some reviews online about how feisty they can be. And feisty they were! They were snatching snacks and water bottles  and hissing when people got too close. I gladly gave them distance! Mike, however, didn't mind at all getting right up close to them and was unfazed when a little baby monkey started grabbing his flip flop as pictured above. But I was sure one was going to fling themselves on me at any moment. Happy to report, I made it out of the forest without any monkey attacks!

  2. I wouldn't take 'a monkey touch experiment' either, but really love the colours, all shades of green and grey, they really lead you deep into the forest.

i agree with you though - i'm a little wary of monkeys too, they are so funny but super unpredictable.

  6. amazing pictures! We never made it to the Monkey Forest because it was pouring rain the rest of the time in Ubud, but it was fun to see it through your ( & Mike's) eyes!

  7. yes, the monkey there could be pretty aggresive. one of them took the water bottle i was carrying as i passed. did you see the quickie they oftenly do there? we were laughing about it. but the monkeys in Sangeh are even worse. they take your sunnies, wallet, even phone cell.
